Beopjusa Temple, which literally means the “temple where the Dharma of Buddha dwells,” was founded by Buddhist Monk Uisin during the reign of King Jinheung of Silla. Within the premises are numerous National Treasures, Treasures, and other pieces of cultural heritages, including the famous Palsangjeon Wooden Pagoda, Twin Lion Stone Lantern, Stone Lotus Basin, Stone Lantern of the Four Guardian Kings, and Rock-carved Seated Buddha. Its temple stay program allows even non-Buddhists to stay at the ancient temple while experiencing Buddhist culture and personal spiritual growth.
